Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up: The NCAA is making crazy exceptions again

Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up

You may have never heard of Michael Turk, but you should learn the name. He’s the very embodiment of NCAA incompetence.

Turk was an all-conference punter for Arizona State last season as a redshirt sophomore.

He declared for the NFL Draft. He hired an agent. He worked out at the Combine. Then he wasn’t drafted.

That should mean his only choice as a football player is to try to make a pro team as a free agent.

But Turk asked the NCAA to allow him to return and play for Arizona State. And the NCAA said, sure, why not.

There wasn’t even some whacky circumstance that makes Turk’s case unique. He simply didn’t like that he didn’t get drafted and wouldn’t be able to work out for teams because of the pandemic.

You know, the same situation facing every other undrafted player.

The NCAA needs to Tighten Up and get some semblance of consistency when it comes to these rulings.

For Threaded Fasteners I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up.
