Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up: Big Ten has made a mess of football season

Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up

The Big Ten and its commissioner, Kevin Warren, are playing politics with their decision about this college football season.

When the league announced it was cancelling the fall season with hopes of playing in the spring, the idea was to have every other league follow their lead.

Well, that didn’t happen. Central Arkansas and Austin Peay successfully kicked off the season Saturday night in Montgomery. South Alabama and Southern Miss will be the first game involving two Division I teams Thursday night. The SEC, ACC and Big 12 are still making plans to kick things off within a month.

Now, suddenly, Warren says the Big 10 is considering an eight-game schedule beginning the week of Thanksgiving.

Maybe waiting until spring will prove to be the right answer. Maybe this fall season will be played successfully.

But Warren needs to Tighten Up and realize that changing the start date just because someone else is now controlling the narrative is a bad look.

For Threaded Fasteners I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up.
