Mina Kimes is smart, funny and well connected in NFL circles. That’s why the Ivy-League educated Kimes has reached the top of her profession as an NFL TV analyst.
Jeff Garcia is a Neanderthal who knows how to use social media.
Kimes offered an opinion about 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, saying he is the “definition of being part of the group project that gets an A while doing none of the work.”
Garcia the former quarterback of the 49ers, responding by saying Kimes wasn’t entitled to an opinion because she never took a snap in the NFL.
Oh boy. That kind of attitude is why we have to listen to so many unqualified ex-players talk about sports on TV.
Garcia used some foul language to criticize Kimes then asked for an Amen from his fellow cave men.
Whether any of us agree with her assessment of Garoppolo’s play is irrelevant. Her opinion was based on research and talking to sources in the game. Garcia’s response was based in sexism and wrong-headedness.
