Cancellation date set for Alabama high schools sporting events

The Alabama High School Athletic Association has set Wednesday, March 18 as the last day for its member schools to participate in sporting activities. But the cancellations have already already begun because of the Coronavirus.

The association made an announcement Friday stating that they will leave the decision up to individual schools and school districts. The AHSAA stipulated that no more than 500 fans should be allowed at any sporting events.

But, as more information became available, schools across the state decided that there would be no competition beyond last Saturday.
