Vigor football coach to take over at Foley High

Deric Scott is set to become the new head football coach at Foley High School.

Scott has had a success run at Vigor High School, compiling a 41-21 record over five seasons. That record includes a Class 5A state championship game appearance in 2018.

Scott will fill the void left behind by the departure of Tad Niblett who has moved on to become offensive coordinator at Hoover High School under his brother Josh.

Check out the story by Al.com's Ben Thomas, co-host of Inside High School Sports on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. on Sports Talk 99.5. We will be discussing the Scott hiring on this week's show.
