The University of South Alabama has signed basketball coach Richie Riley to a two-year contract extension that will keep him under contract with the Jaguars through 2024.
Riley has posted records of 17-17 and 20-11 in his two seasons in Mobile. He had the Jaguars within two wins of the NCAA Tournament when the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
Riley will reportedly receive a raise from $332,000 annually to $400,000.
“This is, I think, an easy call,” athletics director Joel Erdmann told my co-host Creg Stephenson for al.com. “Richie has energized the program in many ways, and that includes energizing our fanbase."
