Packers need to give Rodgers every tool possible to win now

Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game

Aaron Rodgers can’t get along with his brother Jordan Rodgers, so there’s no reason to believe he will get along with Jordan Love.

But in the debate about whether the Green Bay Packers should have traded up in the first round to draft another quarterback I’m squarely on the side other surly but sensational Rodgers.

Pro sports teams are either in the window to win the league championship or they’re not. The division-winning Packers, after going 13-3 and coming within one victory of last season’s Super Bowl, are most definitely in the window. Love doesn’t help their Super Bowl chances in the short run.

Rodgers knows that. He also knows that he’s thrown exactly one touchdown pass in his career to a former first-round draft pick. At some point he has a right to ask when the Packers plan to get him some help on offense.

That point is now.

For Threaded Fasteners, I’m Randy Kennedy with Nuts and Bolts of the Game.
