Brett Favre and his accountant need to Tighten Up

Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up

Kudos to Brett Favre for repaying $500,000 of federal welfare money that he didn’t earn. But the Mississippi scandal revealed last week is a bad look for everyone, Favre included.

The legendary quarterback was paid $1.1 million by the Mississippi Community Education Center, a nonprofit group whose former leader has been indicted in a welfare embezzlement scheme. Favre was supposed to have made several speeches in exchange for the money.

He did not make those speeches. Now, he’s pledging to make good on the entire $1.1 million payment.

That amount of money is extreme for any nonprofit organization to pay. And I know Favre is super rich, but is it reasonable to think that he thought he had earned that much money from a nonprofit when he had not in fact made the speeches?

Look, nobody is accusing Favre of anything criminal. But he and his bookkeeper clearly need to Tighten Up.

This is at the very last an embarrassing situation.

For Threaded Fasteners, I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up.
