Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up
Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Blake Snell is the runaway winner for bad guy of the week.
The former Cy Young Award winner said he had no desire to return to play baseball this season if it meant he was going to be underpaid.
"I'm not playing unless I get mine. That's just the way it is for me. Like, I'm sorry you guys think differently, but the risk is way ... higher and the amount of money I'm making is way lower. Why would I think about doing that?"
I’ve got no problem with anyone choosing not to go back to work because of safety concerns. But to tie is to his reduced pay shows an incredible lack of compassion for millions of people who are truly struggling to feed their families and themselves.
Snell was scheduled to make $7 million this season.
He doesn’t have to play for the love of the game or even for whatever reduced pay he would receive. That’s his choice.
But he needs to Tighten Up and realize that his comments are insensitive and hurtful to the fans and the game.
