Even if we don’t have a college football season in 2020, we came close enough to warrant a preseason poll.

That means Alabama could extend an incredible streak. The Tide was picked third behind Clemson and Ohio State in the preseason Amway coaches poll released Thursday. That makes the 11th straight year Alabama has started in the top three.

In nine of those 11 years, the Tide has been either No. 1 or No. 2.

That means Alabama has been incredibly consistent for more than a decade. It also means the Tide can never be an underdog or play the “nobody believes in us” card.

I suppose one day soon Nick Saban could forget how to recruit and coach and this streak will come to an abrupt end. But if you believe that, well, I have some Amway I’d like to sell you.
