Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up
Texas A&M freshman Blake Smith played tight end at the legendary program at Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas.
That’s the program that has also produced Chase Daniel and Greg McElroy and many more.
But none of those players had the recruiting profile of Class of 2022 quarterback Quinn Ewers.
Ewers is considered the best quarterback prospect since Trevor Lawrence and maybe even longer than that. That’s why it was such a big deal when he committed to the Texas Longhorns last week.
So it was understandable that Smith would congratulate his former teammate on his commitment. But it wasn’t normal for Smith to add “if I was a wide Receiver or tight end I’d commit there with him. Just saying.”
First of all, Smith is a tight end. So, if he wants to transfer to Texas that’s when he can start advising future recruits they need to sign with the Longhorns.
Until then, Smith needs to Tighten Up, stay loyal to his school and his current quarterback. I’m just saying.
