Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game: College careers extended

Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game

If only Hunter Renfrow could have been around Clemson during this pandemic, he might could have played another 10 years.

As it is, there are going to be a lot of players hanging around college football for what seems like decades.

Thatā€™s going to be the affect of the NCAA recommending that all fall sports athletes be allowed to play in as many games as they can without it counting against their college eligibility. That means that a player who plays as a fifth-year senior this year will be allowed as a sixth-year senior in 2021.

Hereā€™s an even more extreme case. Alabama linebacker Josh McMillon had already been granted a sixth year of eligibility because of a redshirt season then a medical redshirt in 2019. So, he could now play as a seventh-year senior in 2021.

The NCAA was trying to do the right thing with this ruling. But the execution is going to be an absolute mess.

For Threaded Fasteners Iā€™m Randy Kennedy with Nuts and Bolts of the Game.
