Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game: Auburn hoping to pass test

Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game

The careers of the last two Auburn players to throw a touchdown pass inside Georgia’s Sanford Stadium went different directions after accomplishing the feat.

One transferred before finishing his eligibility with the Tigers, while the other went on to have a successful NFL career.

So, who’s your guess for the identity of these two players?

Here’s a pretty big hint. Neither was a quarterback. In fact, no Auburn quarterback has thrown a touchdown pass at Georgia since Chris Todd in 2009. One of his two went to current Auburn wide receivers coach Kodi Burns.

Cam Newton’s only game against Georgia was at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

OK, here’s the answer. Boobie Whitlow completed a touchdown pass to John Samuel Shenker in 2018; and in 2011 C.J. Uzomah hit fellow tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen.

Bo Nix will get his first chance to snap this odd streak Saturday against the Bulldogs.
