Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game: SEC more even than expected

Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game

Exactly half of the 14 SEC football teams have a record of 1-2. That includes the defending national champion and all four teams that are being led by first-year coaches.

There are an addition four teams that are 2-1. That includes one team that reached the top five in the country before losing last week.

So, that’s 11 teams that could be described as pretty good or middle of the road or mediocre.

The only three outliers are winless Vanderbilt and undefeated Alabama and Georgia. Either the Tide or Bulldogs will join the ranks of the one-loss teams after facing off Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.

Vanderbilt’s game against Missouri this week has been postponed, so the Commodores’ march toward a winless season will not be disrupted for at least another week.

I don’t know what we should have expected from this most unusual college football season ever. But I’m not sure I was ready for almost every team in the SEC to be grouped under such a small umbrella.

Perhaps this is the week when we finally start to see some separation.

For Threaded Fasteners I’m Randy Kennedy with Nuts and Bolts of the Game.
