The best football recruit in Alabama is Pinson Valley cornerback GaQuincy McKinstry. He has committed to play for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.

So has the No. 1-ranked player in Michigan. And Florida. And Texas.

By the time this weekend is over, there’s a very good chance that the best player from Louisiana will also be a member of the Tide’s 2021 recruiting class.

Sage Ryan, a safety from Lafayette, has strong families ties to home state LSU. A commitment to Alabama would be a major blow for LSU.

The Tigers shouldn’t ask for any sympathy from Texas fans, who lost 5-star tackle Tommy Brockermeyer to the Tide despite the fact that his father, grandfather and older brother played there.

Losing one in-state recruit is never going to ruin a college program. But when all of those players are headed to the same team, it’s certainly tough to overcome.
