Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game: LSU and the Tide rivals?

Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game

LSU coach Ed Orgeron was asked this week about his team’s motivation after being dominated by Auburn 48-11. It could have been worse. After a bye week, LSU will be a massive underdog when it hosts Alabama in eight days.

Orgeron replied, “We’ve got the University of Alabama coming up, our biggest rival. That’s enough right there.”

It’s probably not going to be enough. Alabama is likely to extend its streak of scoring at least 35 points in every game to 20.

But what do you make of Orgeron calling Alabama his team’s biggest rival?

He’s probably right. But fans, players and coaches at Alabama don’t feel the same way about the series.

Alabama’s rival is Auburn – except to some old-timers who still remember when the Tennessee game was the time for players to prove their worthiness of being Crimson Tiders.

LSU has been a big game for Alabama recently because it’s featured two good teams with championship aspiration. At least it did until LSU decided to extend its 2019 victory lap all the way into the next season.

For Threaded Fasteners I’m Randy Kennedy with Nuts and Bolts of the Game.
