Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game
Nine teams from Mobile and Baldwin counties win last week to advance to the second round of the state high school football playoffs tonight. The differences between the schools proves that there’s more than one path to a championship contending program.
There are neighboring Baldwin County public school rivals in Spanish Fort and Daphne. Among the seven Mobile teams, there are four private schools (St. Paul’s, Faith Academy, UMS-Wright and Mobile Christian) two Mobile Public School County Schools (Theodore and Blount) and one team from an independent school system (Saraland).
It should also be noted that St. Luke’s qualified for the playoffs but wasn’t able to compete because of a COVID-19 outbreak.
All nine teams have a realistic chance to win, which could set up some rematches of local teams in the third round. That would be great to see, whether we’re talking about private, public, large or small schools.
