Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up

The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns won two bowl games in 2020 to lead the way for a great postseason for the Sun Belt Conference.

They won the Lending Tree Bowl in Mobile in January, then capped the year with a win in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl on Saturday.

Last season’s 3-2 winning bowl record for the conference was improved upon this season. In fact, league teams had won five straight bowl games heading into the marquee matchup between Coastal Carolina and Liberty Saturday night.

The Chanticleers lost a 3-point decision to the Flame. No shame in that.

But Coastal Carolina missed a chance to elevate its program and conference by completing an undefeated season. Now, only Alabama, Ohio State, Cincinnati and San Jose State are left undefeated.

There’s still a chance all four of those teams could lose, just as Coastal Carolina’s dream season took a hit in the last game of the year for the Sun Belt Conference.
