Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up: Fan favorite analysts need more screen time

After spending way too much of my life watching NFL Draft coverage over the last week, I have discovered the difference between a good draft analyst and a bad one.

The good ones are the ones who do their research and approach their jobs as if they were NFL general managers. The bad ones are Booger McFarland.

Whether Mel Kiper turns out to be right about the future of a particular prospect or where he will be drafted doesn’t matter much to me. He’s entertaining because he’s taken the time to be educated about the players and the process. The same is true for Louis Reddick and Mobile’s own Jim Nagy. These guys make me feel like I’m in an NFL team’s war room arguing the merits of one player over another.

It’s infuriating when these smart and prepared analysts have to sit quiet while former players get air time to babble on because they don’t actual have any research to fall back on about a player.

TV executives needs to Tighten Up and realize that former players can be great analysts. But being a former player can’t be the only qualification for taking away the people we want to hear.

For Threaded Fasteners I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up.
