Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up: Players should show pride in their school

Four LSU Tigers were in the starting lineup for Sunday’s Super Bowl. But you sure wouldn’t know it from the pregame players introductions.

Here is where those four players said they were from.

Andrew Whitworth LSU.

Joe Burrow Athens High School.

Ja’Marr Chase Wide Receiver University.

Odell Beckham Jr. "Him" University.

Whitworth, the oldest player in the league and the NFL Man of the Year, is all class.

Burrow, the Ohio boy, was giving a shoutout to his roots in the state of his pro team.

Chase at least forced a few fans to look up what Wide Receiver University is, which will bring some positive publicity to the Tigers.

Then there was Beckham. Him University is a nod to His Imperial Majesty. “I’m Him” is a rap album from Beckham’s Louisiana friend Kevin Gates.

In case you’re wondering, Darious Williams said he was from UAB, and Jonah Williams said Alabama.

I suppose these guys can say they’re from anywhere they want. But I wish they would Tighten Up and give a valuable shoutout to the schools that helped make them. Oh, and I also want to know where all the players are from, which is the reason for the introductions in the first place.

For Threaded Fasteners, I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up
