As the clock ticked down on Tennessee’s 67-62 win over Auburn Saturday, fans at Thompson-Boling Arena serenaded Auburn players with tired chant of “overrated.”
Tennessee has beaten every team that has visited Knoxville this season, including Kentucky and Arizona. Beating Auburn was another impressive feat. It wasn’t evidence of an overrated opponent.
Tennessee coach Rick Barnes agrees.
“No, they’re not overrated,” he said. “We just beat a top 5 team. Give us credit.”
Barnes is right. Auburn isn’t overrated. To say they are is a slap to Tennessee.
Fans need to Tighten Up and give credit where it’s due. That’s to their own team for a great game.
