The New York Giants are reportedly hiring former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy for the same position, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

"The #Giants are hiring former #Chiefs OC Matt Nagy as their new offensive coordinator, per The Insiders. An experienced play-caller who has worked with the game’s best, Nagy fills a key role on John Harbaugh’s staff," Rapoport wrote on his X account. "After working with Patrick Mahomes for the last several years, Matt Nagy will now work with Jaxson Dart."

Nagy, 47, who had previously worked as a head coach for the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2021, was reported to be considered for multiple head coaching vacancies this offseason, with the Chiefs bringing back former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. The veteran coach had previously worked as the Chiefs' quarterbacks coach in 2015 before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2016 prior to being hired by the Bears.

Nagy went 34-31 in four seasons as a head coach, which included winning an NFC North Division title in his first season and two playoff appearances, but a 6-11 record in 2021 prior to his firing. The Chiefs ranked 20th among all 32 NFL teams in total offense with 320.4 yards per game and 21st in scoring offense with 21.3 points per game.

Harbaugh was hired by the Giants as part of a five-year deal that will pay him $20 million annually.
