Chris Broussard: NBA Media is Vastly Overvaluing Zion Williamson

Nick Wright: “In my top 10 of players under 25 in the NBA and I had Luka 1 and Zion 2… I know you took issue with some of my placement.”
Chris Broussard: “Zion is way too high. I love his potential just like everybody else but people are overlooking the warts in his game. Number one, He doesn’t defend at all. I get it, these guys are young and a lot of them don’t defend, but his defense is horrible. And number two, he’s not rebounding like he should. He’s giving me 6 rebounds a game. I need more than that. He’s great in the post and obviously he’s a quick jumper and that’s his strength, but he doesn’t have a ton of moves down there. He’s always spinning to his left and we know what he’s going to do. He obviously doesn’t shoot the 3 well yet, so ranking him second right now is way too high.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Chris Broussard explain to Nick Wright why he doesn’t covet New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson nearly as much as many of his media brethren do, as Broussard and Wright argue over where Zion should be ranked in a top 10 list of the ‘Best NBA Players Under 25 Years Old.’

Check out the interview above as Broussard details why Zion’s lack of defense, errant three-point shooting, and rebounding deficiencies make his overall reputation greatly overhyped.
